The Opex Engineer:
Drive continuous improvement and operational transformation across the organization by developing tools, culture, capabilities, and strategies that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity. Lead cross-functional teams in applying Lean methodologies to enhance performance, simplify work methods, and embed a culture of Operational Excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and support the deployment of the Operational Excellence (Op Ex) System, ensuring alignment with business priorities to accelerate performance improvement.
- Establish and implement performance priorities and targets, in collaboration with functional teams across the organization.
- Monitor progress and support corrective actions, ensuring that deviations from goals are addressed effectively and timely.
- Train and coach teams and individuals on the Operational Excellence methodology to foster continuous improvement capabilities and ownership.
- Lead benchmarking events and best practice implementation, working closely with operations to expand the culture of performance excellence.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments across the organization to identify operational inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead multiple Kaizen events (both transactional and operational) to improve processes and eliminate waste.
- Document and communicate progress and results through periodic reporting to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Promote and contribute to the development of a proactive safety culture, integrating safety improvements into all Op Ex initiatives.
- Support cultural transformation initiatives, aligning behaviors, values, and practices with the principles of Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence.
Academic Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
- Desirable: Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), TPM, or Operational Excellence
Required Experience:
- Intermediate to Advanced (5–7 years or more): Experience in manufacturing environments applying Lean/Op Ex methodologies, leading cross-functional improvement initiatives, and fostering cultural transformation.
