Job Description
Turner & Townsend is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our talented team. The ideal individual will be a good communicator and a team player with a good foundation in cost and estimating.
Responsibilities
Develop cost plans and estimates from concept through detailed design.
Support client land acquisitions.
Deliver and present updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones.
Review proposed design changes/new technologies and prepare estimates within appropriate accuracy levels.
Understand design stages and estimate levels.
Provide commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises.
Prepare cash commitment forecasts for the construction life cycle.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/cost plans.
Analyze labor markets and cost drivers such as unions & tax.
Support clients with monthly presentations.
Deliver life cycle costing models.
Benchmark integration to ensure accurate data capture.
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
Advanced level of English required, as the candidate will be working with international clients.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or a field related to construction.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience.
Experience working in a construction cost management role such as estimating, cost engineering, project engineering, project cost controls, etc.
Thrives in a client-facing role.
Experience supporting program-level cost management for medium or large-scale construction projects.
Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
Strong communication skills.
