General Functions
This position is responsible for all production aspects of a business unit(s) within the manufacturing organization. Develops tactical and strategic objectives to meet goals of the department.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and evaluate both direct and indirect resources to ensure high productivity levels
Oversee a workforce of hourly and salaried employees, in multiple manufacturing departments, and shifts
Track and meet daily/weekly/monthly KPIs: Safety Near Miss Reporting, Quality/Scrap, Volume/Productivity, Efficiency and Lead-Time
Identifies and presents plans to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
Set ambitious production goals, communicate them to key personnel and influence team to buy into those ambitious goals
Provide guidance, motivation, and establish methods that will promote objective thinking and teamwork within department
Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management
Strong collaboration and partnership with other core team members to solve cross‑functional problems
Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels
Create standard work for all positions within the team
Identify roadblocks impacting department and address with a clear action plan
Organization of material flow through each process
Work safely and maintain a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Annual budgeting to align with the Annual Operating Plan and / or 3- to 5‑year manufacturing forecast
6‑S Implementation/Sustain
Strong understanding of production efficiency metrics, such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting production issues
Ensures employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs. Identifies training gaps and develops training plans as needed
Oversee the storage and movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Manage inventory through physical counts and data reconciliation
Oversee mold/machine transfer, setup, validation, and optimization of injection‑molding processes
Partner and coordinate with internal tooling team and external vendors for mold repairs or modification
Work closely with the Quality team to address nonconformances, CAPAs, and audit findings
Maintain documentation for process parameters, validations, and engineering changes
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, PLCs, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Injection Molding
Experience with scientific molding, RJG/Decoupled Molding, or similar methodologies
5+ years of experience in Manufacturing environment
Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one‑on‑one basis as well as in a group
Experience in a high volume, high mix, and multiple shift environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree preferred
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification, highly desired – this is our language
Experience using SAP
Previous experience as Manufacturing, Process, or Mechanical Engineer
