to steer procurement strategy, supplier performance, and purchasing operations across North America. The position is

Mexico City metropolitan area , with openness to commuting and frequent travel.

Position Overview
As

Vice President of Purchasing – NAFTA , for our largest business in NA , you will oversee the regional purchasing function, driving the whole function,… supplier relationships, cost performance, and sourcing alignment with global strategy. You will report to the President of the North America region and to the Global Procurement organization.
The purchasing organization and its teams are

distributed across :
Puebla (Mexico)

– primary location of this position and a core operations base
Detroit Area (USA)

– the current

NA regional headquarters for this activity
Multiple sites across North America

– including production plants and R&D centers
You will coordinate with these locations to lead a unified and high-performing purchasing function across borders and disciplines.

Travel Scope
Regular regional travel within NAFTA

is essential, as you will lead and support purchasing teams across various countries and sites
International travel

will also be required, depending on

global supplier footprint ,

strategic sourcing needs , and

global performance reviews

involving key international stakeholders and partners

Key Responsibilities
Lead and implement sourcing strategy and supplier governance across NAFTA
Optimize cost structure and manage key supplier negotiations
Contribute to industrial strategy (make-or-buy) in line with business objectives
Ensure legal, regulatory, and internal compliance across all procurement activities
Build and lead a diverse, cross-site purchasing organization
Support R&D, engineering, and production teams in early supplier involvement as we are talking about complex large systems with much innovation
Drive lean purchasing practices and procurement digitalization
Deliver consistent, transparent reporting to executive leadership
Champion ethics, compliance, and organizational values
Actively support talent development and succession planning within the regional procurement network

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred
8+ years ideally in automotive purchasing management roles
5+ years in executive leadership with cross-border team oversight
Practice of the function a very demanding industrial environnment , typically Tier one automotive global company is expected

Core Competencies:
Strong strategic mindset with operational execution ability
Supplier development and cost control expertise
Experienced in leading multicultural and multi-location teams
Familiar with lean principles , continuous improvement and automtive standards , operational excellence and digital procurement tools
Fluent/native in

Spanish , with fluent/native

English communication

Location & Travel
This executive position is

based in Puebla

(or Mexico City area), with

frequent regional travel

across North America and

international travel

as required for supplier strategy execution and global coordination.
