Reporting to Engineering Manager, this position of Applications Engineer is responsible and accountable for developing technical solutions and information on sealing product application to customers and providing technical support to the internal organization as Sales, Laboratory, Process and Industrialization to ensure the new product launching meet customer requirements and specifications. The new product launch must be in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Application Engineer will be a direct link with our overseas organization, on Global Hutchinson PSS Projects, and with our Production Sites in North America Territory to make sure product development meets our customer requirements and our Hutchinson Standards.
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in engineering field (mechanical, industrial and material). 1-3 years of work-related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken) required
Three years of direct experience in Precision Rubber Sealing product development required
CAD software experience preferred
Knowledge of rubber process transformation in injection, compression, extrusion preferred
Knowledge of quality standard system as IATF 16949:2016 (APQP, FMEA, etc.) preferred
Cost estimating and RFQ process experience preferred
