Overview
Sola Wood Flowers is looking for an Agricultural Engineer to help us build and operate farming operations in Mexico, with a focus on eucalyptus cultivation. You will work closely with our executive team and operations leadership and own the setup and execution of our agricultural operations from land preparation through long-term yield planning.
We are flexible around experience level. Experience with tree crops, forestry, or long-cycle agriculture is required.

At Sola Wood Flowers, we are transforming what artificial flowers can be by providing better flowers for less with our affordable eco-friendly wooden flowers and currently serve over 6% of American weddings annually.
We are working towards building a modernized $100mm+ vertically-integrated platform selling through direct-to-consumer, owned retail and traditional wholesale channels. Sola Wood Flowers has grown to ~200 people in less than 6 years and is looking to continue our rapid growth by vertically integrating more of our supply chain. That is where you come in!

Key Objectives
Design and launch eucalyptus farming operations from raw land
Select eucalyptus species appropriate for local climate and soil conditions
Design planting density, irrigation, fertilization, and maintenance plans
Model yields, survival rates, and costs per hectare
Build nursery, planting, and ongoing maintenance workflows
Hire and manage local farm labor
Work with leadership to plan capex and long-term agricultural economics
Reduce risk related to pests, disease, and climate variability
Continuously improve agricultural yield efficiency over time
Requirements
This is an on-site role in Monterrey, Nuevo León
Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field
Direct experience with tree crops or long-cycle crops such as eucalyptus, forestry, citrus, avocado, pine, or similar
Strong operational mindset with hands-on field experience
Comfortable managing farm labor and on-site execution
Strong with numbers and basic modeling of yields and costs
Able to provide references as requested. We do not want to waste your time or ours. Our interview process is detailed and thorough.

How Our Hiring Works & How We Operate
When hiring, we\u2019ll work with you to define the KPIs you\u2019ll be responsible for and set targets. This removes ambiguity around whether you\u2019re doing a good job after you start.
Initial soft interview, then a long-form live technical interview focused on real-world agricultural execution. Our average time-to-hire from our first interview is ~8–10 days. We pride ourselves on timely responses and updates for applicants.
We run on EOS / Traction. If you\u2019ve used Scaling Up or OKRs, you\u2019ll likely slip into Traction easily. If you haven\u2019t used it before, we recommend quickly researching Traction.
